Yesterday’s episode of the Thai adaptation of My Love Mix-Up was the most drastic so far. At the end of last week’s First Date episode, Teacher Annop (Papang Phromphiriya) stumbled upon Kongthap and Atom. In the original, the teacher is homophobic, and the four leads work together to help him see the error of his ways. In this episode, however, things were a little bit different.
Atom is very worried about people discovering that he and Kongthap are in a relationship. Kongthap, on the other hand, wants them to be as open and free as any other couple in the school. Still, Atom stands his ground and even goes as far as breaking up with Kongthap when he discovers that he later told the basketball team they were a couple so that they could spend Valentine’s Day together. Luckily, thanks to his conversation with Teacher Annop (and his boyfriend), Atom and Kongthap set things right and tell Kongthap’s friends they are a couple. To which his friends basically respond with “Duh.”
This episode dealt with a lot of issues that come up later on in the original series, including Half and Mudmee becoming a thing. This is basically chapters 5-10 of the original series and somewhere around halfway through the original manga. There are a lot more stories to tell, and if GMMTV really is following the manga, I am actually looking forward to see how they adapt the last two episodes.
I am waiting for the music video of the latest OST song to appear. It’s so sweet.
There will be more My Love Mix-Up soon so…
Stay Tuned!
