Since at the time of this posting, it is Tuesday in Japan, I would like to take this opportunity to wish my next #MancrushMonday a very happy birthday! Of course, I am talking about the gorgeously goofy KEN KOJIMA (小島健)!
Born on 25 June, the pretty, sexy, beauty, cutie leader of the group is not only a gifted vocalist, he’s got those magic fingers that tickle the keys that make that sweet, sweet sounds of love that turns music into magic.
Joining STARTO at 13, Kojima has proven incredibly focused and diligent in his career path, even if he has one of the most endearingly goofy personalities at the company.
A little-known – but incredibly fun – fact about KOJIMA is that, while filming a video for the Junior’s YouTube channel, he made a breakthrough discovery in marine biology in downtown Osaka when he discovered the first ever eel in the Dotonbori River. The find got him a mention in National Geographic (though not by name – as NG is not as posh as we are and does not focus on the greatness of idols).
Recently, Kojima starred in the sultry drama from YTV, Do Me When You Come Home, and – with the rest of his Ae! group members – is a Japan ambassador for sportswear brand FILA!
The docuseries BORDERLESS, chronicling the group’s rise to fame, is streaming worldwide exclusively on Netflix, leading up to the release of Ae! group’s single《A》BEGINNING.
As the first to debut under STARTO ENTERTAINMENT,《A》BEGINNING has become the best-selling debut in recent memory, with the Limited Edition bundle (featuring all three versions of the physical CD) selling out on CD Japan within the first 24 hours.
In addition to his acting and activities with Ae! group Kojima has also taken on the mantle of director/producer for the Kansai STARTO Jrs.’ YouTube channel videos.

An absolute gem of a human being, I am very excited about everything Ae! group has accomplished. A group to watch for sure! There will be more soon, so…
