The hit WB Animation has returned with a vengeance.

Following the dramatic events of the previous season, our beloved trio-Clark, Lois, and Jimmy-now promoted to reporters, find themselves once again in the midst of chaos. Yet, it’s in these turbulent times that they truly shine, demonstrating their resilience and adaptability.

The show’s creators have masterfully woven in nostalgic nods to past incarnations of Superman. In the two-hour premiere (which aired on 26 May), Clark, in a heartfelt gesture, decides to write Lois a poem for Valentine’s Day. The poem begins with the iconic line, ‘Can you read my mind?’-a direct reference to the 1978 film that starred Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder.

Clark learns that his father, Jor-El, is not the bad guy he thought he was in the first season. As the two communicate, Clark discovers another startling secret. He’s not the only Kryptonian sent to Earth before Krypton imploded. His cousin Kara was as well.

Baby Kara Zor-El

The second half of the two-episode season premiere outs Clark and Lois face-to-face with Amanda Waller while they try to rescue the General. After doing so, they decide that his safest place is to live with Clark and Jimmy.

It’s not the best situation, especially with Clark moonlighting as Superman. But, if it makes Lois happy, Clark will do anything. Jimmy, who sold Flame Bird to the Daily Planet for millions, is still bubbly. Money hasn’t changed him at all.

As the series unfolds, a new Kryptonian is set to make her grand entrance on Earth. Brace yourselves, for Kara Zor-El, also known as SUPERGIRL, is about to grace Metropolis with her presence! As a self-proclaimed fan of all things Kryptonian – yes, I do have a favorite – I am eagerly awaiting this development.

Fully grown Supergirl: Kara Zor-El
