My Dear Readers,

While I always strive to bring you the best in J-POP, It’s been too long since I have focused on the beauty behind those sultry voices. The sound and movement are essential, to be sure, but it’s the look that first catches our attention. And somehow, the idols of STARTO ENTERTAINMENT seem to have been chiseled by the Gods themselves.  They’re the whole package. And what a package my next MCM is. So, I hope you’re parched! 

As ⅕ of the newest group to debut under the most prominent idol factory in Japan – Ae! group (Aぇ! group) –  Keita Richard Kusama (commonly called Richard) has a smile that has that powerful duality that will at once light up a room but stop your heart mid-beat! He’s also got that comedic charm that gives him an edge – and don’t get me started on those adorable dimples. 

He also looks great in FILA – which he and the rest of Ae! group are ambassadors for!

Born on 11 January 1996, he joined STARTO on 13 February 2009. Multi-talented, he’s always had a drive and desire to succeed. He wanted to be someone his friends could say “You’re on TV!” So, for Richard, there was never a question of if but when it would happen. The day after his audition he was contacted by the company’s CEO himself and started his career as a back-up dancer for the legendary KAT-TUN!

As a STARTO Jr., Richard has been a part of various groups such as Funky8, Gang Star, BOYS BEST, and Kansai BOYS. His journey led him to the Ae! group on 18 February 2019, just after celebrating his 10th anniversary with the company. He can dance, he can sing, and he plays both the saxophone AND the bass guitar. He’s also not ashamed to sport a bit of chest hair, which – truth be told –  I find quite appealing! 

As the newest unit to debut under STARTO ENTERTAINMENT Ae! group are already making history with the best selling debut singles in recent memory.

All eyes are on Ae! group – as they should be. The group is fire and Richard, is red hot!

With STARTO ENTERTAINMENT venturing into the realm of global streaming, a world of talent is about to be unveiled and Richard is one of their most adorable stars! I can’t wait to introduce you to more!
