Between 33 films and 12 television series (with more currently in production), keeping every story and character straight is nearly impossible. A task only getting more difficult with the worlds of the films and television becoming increasingly entwined. Within this vast and ever-expanding universe, though, I have favorites, and I have found it much easier to focus strictly on those characters and the stories surrounding them.

One of my favorites is Captain Marvel.

I have been a fan of Brie Larson since discovering her on The United States of Tara. As a film, I adored Captain Marvel and thought she was an excellent choice of Carol Danvers. In addition, I thoroughly enjoyed both the connecting television series  Ms. Marvel and WandaVision, which aired on Disney +.

Like Larson, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan is absolutely perfect, and the same can be said about Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau.

When Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson, reclaimed her identity from the Kree and sought revenge on the Supreme Intelligence, she set in motion a series of events that would rock the Marvel universe. Her journey led her through an anomalous wormhole to Dar-Benn, a Kree revolutionary, and her powers became entangled with those of Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau. This entanglement, causing them to switch places whenever they use their powers, forms the heart of the captivating plot.

They find themselves in the middle of the ongoing war between the peaceful Skrulls and Dar-Benn, who is trying to restore life to her planet after its power source was destroyed by the annihilator (Danvers before she regained her memories). Racing through the galaxy, the trio learns how to persevere through the entanglement of the powers, controlling the shift.

When the film was released for home media, Amazon UK issued a collectible Steelbook worthy of any Marvel collection. The artwork on this project – as with all Marvel steenboks – is impeccable. Seriously, it’s one of the best that has been released.

Clocking in at 104 minutes, the film is presented in both 4K and 1080 HD in English, Italian, and Spanish with subtitled available in Spanish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Italian, German, and Swedish. Extras include: Entangled, The Production diaries of Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani, a Gag Reel, Deleted Scenes, and audio Commentary – with director Nia DaCosta and VFX Supervisor Tara DeMarco. Though you will need a region free player, if you live outside of the UK, it’s still worth it.
