Everything ends, even careers – no matter how beloved an artist (or group) is, there will come a time when their music fades into silence. After 6 successful years together, A☆TEENS did just that. But, they didn’t just call it quits. They gave their fans something not often done – the chance to say goodbye in the form of a Greatest Hits album.

The group released their final music video “I Promised Myself” on 28 April 2004. Acover a song by British singer Nick Kamen, the single was produced by Grizzly and Tysper, who had worked with the group previously since their sophomore album, peaked at number 2 on the Swedish music charts and was another huge success for the group in Latin America.

Directed by Gustav Jonhson, the music video features the group, as adults, interacting with their younger selves throughout their various music videos.

The album was released in Sweden in May 2004 and peaked at number 16. An American edition was planned through Interscope, but never happened due to the fact that the group was already moving on to other projects.

Two of the new tracks “The Final Cut” and “With or Without You” were written by the members of the group as a “goodby” and “thank you” to the fans for their support. Every track included on the album (except for the new ones) had previously cracked the Top 20 chart position in at least one country).

Since the group’s disbandment, all of the members have gone on to release other music, starting with Dhani, who released his debut single “Girl Talk” on 12 August 2004. The music video was directed by Mikeadelica and featured Nik & Jay who were Denmark’s biggest rap artists at the time. The single peaked at No. 20 and was certified gold. He’s now a popular songwriter/producer.

Marie followed shortly after with That’s “The Way My Heart Goes” and “I Need a House” both from her debut album Enjoy the Ride in 2006. While she continued to release new music, she is also a popular television host.

Sara released several singles under various names, including “Glamour Bitch”, “Enemy”, and a cover of Olivia Newton-John’s Let’s Get Physical. In 2014, Sara won the Swedish Championships in pole dance and is one of the founders of FLOW, a pole dance studio based in Sweden – where she also works as an instructor.

After releasing his debut album Songs In A Key Of Mine in 2008, Amit Paul graduated from the Stockholm School of Economics in 2009 with a Master of Business. Currently, he is the Managing Director of his family business, Paxymer AB which specializes in flame retardants and product development within polymer chemistry.

Earlier this year, the group reunited at the Melodifestivalen festival in Sweden performing a medley of some of their biggest hits. While an official instagram is teasing there to be more soon, it doesn’t specify what that “more” is. New Music? Extended re-issues? A Blu-Ray of all their music videos (please).

You can currently stream the groups album discography (and select singles) through apps like Apple Music and Spotify.

Hopefully there will be more A☆TEENS soon so…
