Tatsuya Ueda of the chart-topping JPOP group KATーTUN has released his first solo Digital EP “GRST!” and the only word I can think to describe it is FUN!
The six-song EP (released through Storm Labels) is a mix of pop-rock bangers like “Girisuto!” and “Hikari Sasu Hou He” – both of which we co-written (and co-produced) by Ueda with Sho Sakurai of another legendary JPOP group ARASHI.
My favorite track on the EP is the sensual (but still hard-hitting) “Lollipop” which is easily a song one could… move to.
Ueda, who is very active (and incredibly funny) on Instagram. Most of his feed are his (staged) kidnapping of other STARTO talent, like Noel and Shime from Travis Japan.
Seriously. The dude is hysterical – and incredibly talented. “GRST!” – now streaming worldwide on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and more – and can be purchased through sites like iTunes and Qobuz (which offers a 16-Bit/44.1 kHz download).
Not that I expected anything less than enjoyable from a talent signed to STARTO ENTERTAINMENT, but this EP really has something special. If you like JPOP/JROCK do yourself a favor and give it a listen. It’s fantastic!
