OnlyOneOf has been one of my favorite K-POP discoveries since I fell into the wonderland of undergrOund idOll earlier last year. Since then I’ve followed their career pretty diligently, which included their music-driven BL drama Bump Up Business. So, when their newest mini-album Things I Can’t Say LOve, released through s+one / GENIE MUSIC/SD ENTERTAINMENT was announced, I jumped at the chance to review.

The four-track (plus 1 instrumental) album of the fun and upbeat classic KPOP sound the group is known for.

As for the title track, the instrumental things i can’t say lOve is a very hard-hitting, techno-pop piece that sets the expectations that this is the sound that will follow.

dOpamine

The lead single fits perfectly with the sounds of the songs included in the Bump Up Business OST.

give me the lOve, bitxx

This track has a very chill/early 2000s sort of vibe to it. Softer than dOpamine but nice.

O

A nice track, it’s not as catchy as dOpamine.

gravity

Another vibe track, there’s a sensuality to the track, but it’s still much softer than some of their previous releases.

Each version comes with the following contents:

  • 1 CD
  • 1 Photo Book (72 pages)
  • 1 Photo Card
  • 1 Lenticular Card
  • 1 Poster (folded)

Pre-order contents included:

  • 1 Folded Poster

If I am being honest, it’s not my favorite of their albums, but it is enjoyable – and dOpamine is just a great track! The photo book is nice, and the amateur feel of the photography lends itself to the raw intimacy that has become one of the group’s signature calling cards.
