Learning that Madam Ju loved her, even though it caused her immense suffering, Do-He does her best to get used to life without Gu-Won. The demon has decided to take a sabbatical, leaving Bok-Kyu as the new director of the Sunwol Foundation. However, he’s never far from his beloved Do-He and watches over her while she sleeps.

After signing an official expansion to the US, Do-He celebrates with Ms. Shin and their coworkers. After a night of drinking she returns home, just drunk enough that she tries to summon Gu-Won’s powers and snap the light into illumination. It doesn’t work, but she does make it home. Passed out on the sofa, Gu-Won once again appears to look after his wife, sleeping next to her undetected.

Missing her husband, Do-He visits his company. Hidden within his Demon Manuel she finds a photo from the two of them, that conjures up happy memories that pull at her heartstrings. Meeting Bok-Kyu she confesses how much she misses him. So he gives her Gu-Won’s cross necklace, telling her it will help when she misses him.

Putting it on the moment she gets home, Do-He begins to dream of her past life with Gu-Won, when he was still a human. A government courtesan, the young master came into her life when she was trying to end it. He saved her, then he avenged her. Knowing, he would be waiting for her at the spot he waited for Wolism, she rushed to meet him.

However, Suk-Min was waiting for her, hidden in the back seat of her car. Drugged, she wakes up in an abandoned building, her deranged, and now deformed, older brother, ready to destroy her.

After jumping from the building Surviving his drop into the river, he mutilated himself with fire, so that Gu-Won would not be able to find him, keeping him hidden, off the devil’s radar so that even he thought he was dead. This allows him to plot and scheme to finally get rid of Do-He once and for all – destroying Gu-Won in the process.

He plans on using her pain to draw Gu-Won out of hiding. Knowing he will rush to save his beloved wife, he plans to use the demon’s love against him. Shooting Do-He in the back with a rifle, the demon uses his powers to bring her back to life. Breaking the rules, he disintegrates into flames – leaving Do-He alone in her agony.
