Back home, Day and Night’s mother is furious at Mhork. While it’s true she wanted him to get her son to come out of his room, she didn’t mean that he could take him anywhere without supervision. Though she was thankful the last thing her son saw was a beautiful sunset (Mhrok didn’t mention he was a part of it), she was furious with Mhork. So, Mhork decides to quit being Day’s caregiver – which he tells Day and asks him not to be mad at his mother. Before Mhork can leave the house, Day rushes to tell his mother the truth, that Mhork’s face was the last thing he saw because he means more to him than just a caregiver. Furious, she kicks Mhork out of the house. She also confiscates Day’s cell phone, because she doesn’t want him talking to Mhork.
Though Night tries to get their mother to see reason, she’s dead set against Day and Mhork. Not because Mhork is a guy, but because she doesn’t think he can take care of Day. Nor does she think Day can take care of himself. Even though she is NEVER there, she believes it is her right to control her adult children, because the one holding the purse strings. However, Night does get Day back his cell phone and the two reconcile. Day forgives him, for everything.
Mhork takes Porjai for a prenatal check-up, while night Assists Mhork at his monthly check-up. Neither Mhork nor Day knows that Night and Porjai have set it up so that the four of them would run into one another and Day and Mhork can meet at the hospital and escape for a quick date without their mother knowing the truth. Night stays behind to help Porjai, and tells a nurse friend of his to take care of her, because the child she is carrying, is his. Day and Mhork run into On and Play at a painting class for the blind. It’s funny and romantic and sweet.
After Day and Night reconcile with their mother over Christmas dinner, Day sneaks away to have a romantic date with Mhork. He gives him a handmade oven mitt. During the dinner, Night and their mother show up. They got a call from the hospital. There is an eye donation for Day.
