GMMTV’s Cooking Crush is one of those series you can’t help but love. Light-hearted and cute, it’s just sweet and delectable fun.

In episode 5, Ten’s stepmother needs a hot shower after watching him interact with Prem. She finds their relationship adorable. Ten’s father on the other hand does not and decided that he would step in and tell the cute, harmless little chef that he no longer wanted him around his son. But Ten doesn’t seem to care and confesses to his mother’s photo just how special Prem is to him. However, he gets jealous when he sees Chef Chang Ma in the class, and he pays special attention to Prem’s cooking.

As his best friend, Metha knows Fire is questioning his sexual preferences. he takes him to a park in the city where he can pick up any sex worker he wants and have a good time. Though upset (and concerned about cops) at first, after moving speech on the legalizing sex work in Thailand, Fire decides to do his duty as a citizen to help the cause and higher a sex worker. Instead, they run into Dynamite and Samsi. Alone in the car, Dynamite and Fire can talk. Though Fire doesn’t admit his feelings, he does giggle to himself about them – even after he’s told Dynamite he doesn’t have feelings for him.

Walking back to Ten’s house, he and Prem share a kiss.

I normally hate episodes that jump around in time. However, all the missing pieces were put into place during episode 6.

Metha and Samsi left the car to go find Samsi’s wallet, which is why Fire and Dynamite were left alone. Ten kissed Prem after a day out, because, now that their cooking classes are over – they still want to spend time together. Fire and Jane have re-connected, but even she can tell he has feelings for Dynamite. Ten gets jealous when Chef Chang Ma decides to help Prem, Dynamite, and Samsi with their entrance video to Super Monster Chef

Midway Thoughts: This series is great. Like OffGun’s previous series Not Me, I am pleased to see important political issues and marginalized people brought to the forefront. While Cooking Crush is much less overt about the issues, I love that they are still there and still being address. I am absolutely loving this type of Character for Neo. It shows his breadth as an actor when he can go from Boston to Fire and be just as believable in both roles.

More Cooking Crush soon so…
