As a child, I adored the Transformers. I loved it even more when I realized that Peter Cullen, the voice behind the amazing Optimus Prime, was also the voice behind Rainbow Brite’s most menacing villain, Murky Dismal! So, needless to say, I’ve seen every single one of the live-action Transformers films. While some (and I will not name them) have fallen flat, Rise of the Beasts is one of my favorites. Mostly because one of this film’s live-action stars is none other than Anthony Ramos.

Taking place in 1994, after Bumblebee (my favorite of the films), and 2007’s Transformers, Ramos stars as Noah Diaz, an ex-military electronics expert, who is struggling to find a job that will help support his younger brother. After a robbery gone wrong introduces Noah to the Autobots, he’s taken on an adventure that also involves the Maximals from the original Transformers sequel series Beast Wars. Filled with action and adventure, it was a great film, that also connected the world of G.I. Joe.

When I pre-ordered the Blu-ray on Amazon, a Steelbook was not an option (however I will purchase one in the future), so the artwork/slip case, while high quality, is pretty generic.

Specs: In addition to the 2 hours 7 minute film, which also comes with a digital copy, the disc also features a plethora of extras including behind-the-scenes, extended scenes, and an alternate ending.
