With Do-Kyung closing in on Gu-Won and Do-Hee in the Photo Booth, and his powers on the fritz, Gu-Won kisses her to, as he claims, hide their faces for him. It works and the young psychopath rushes away. The two are approached by Suk-Nyeo (Chung-Hwa Cha), an unhoused woman who seems to be very familiar with who (and what) they are.

Out of the bus station, Gu-Won tries to make another attempt to use his powers. When he causes a white rose to bloom red, he believes his powers are back to normal. However, when he puts the flower back and turns to leave, the flower withers and dies.

Back in Do-Hee’s apartment, married life is an adjustment, and neither the flamboyant demon nor the powerful human are good at adjustment. Gu-won thinks her home is too small, and Do-Hee believes that he is a hoarder with too much junk. Seok-Hoon, believing Gu-Won is anything but human, rushes to warn his friend. The problem is, after just a few moments, he realizes (though he doesn’t say anything), she already knows.

After running away, Ga-Young’s tragic backstory is revealed. The daughter of a drunk, who made a bet with the demon, is spared her father’s fist when the demon comes to collect his soul on a cold winter night. She begs him to take her in, but he refuses. He doesn’t make deals with children and vanishes. Then, she spends years trying to find him. Finding her in a dangerous part of town, the demon saves her once again, from some shady men and brings her home.

In the dark of the night, the demon manual is stolen.

The thugs Gu-Won and Do-He dance-battled into oblivion appear. Though the couple is ready to run, the men appear only to beg the demon to be their boss. He agrees.

While Gu-Won watches Ga-Young’s performance, he has more flashes from his human life. There’s another sword dancer. He doesn’t understand it, though he doesn’t have time to focus as he learns that Do-Hee is arrested under suspicion for the murder of Madam Ju.

Rushing to save her, he is attacked by Gwang-Chol, and stabbed through the heart. If Bok-Gyu hadn’t stopped him, he would have been able to deliver the final blow. In the scuffle, his mask is partially removed, allowing the demon to see his face. But it’s too late. Gu-Won’s eyes close.

Quick Take: This was an incredibly emotional episode. I loved learning more about where Ga-Young came from. It makes her a much more well-rounded character. I am excited to see where she goes. Also, Suk-Nyeo knows too much. I think she’s God.

More My Demon soon so…
