The next morning, August shows up at the house. Mhork is reluctant to let him in at first, but knowing it’s not his place to keep him out, he does. Though he doesn’t buy Mhork’s sob story about collapsing during practice, Mhork is still respectful. It’s clear he doesn’t want to hurt Day’s feelings, but he doesn’t trust August. At all.
And honestly, I don’t blame him.

As August continues to to ingratiate himself to Day, Mhork continues to hold him at arm’s length, while trying to make sure Day remains happy. However, when August wants to throw Day a surprise birthday party, Mhork’s feelings for him start to shift. That is, until the actual night of the birthday party.
As an act of kindness, August kisses Day. However, when Day kisses August back, he pushes his friend away – which Mhork witnesses. Rushing to his friend’s defense, August says he just wanted to give Day a happy memory. Mhork grabs August but doesn’t hurt him (Showing massive growth on his part). Finally, August leaves (hopefully for good).
Whisking Day from the party, Mhork takes him to his special spot, a rooftop parking lot where they can be alone with the sunrise. Then, Mhork kisses him. Mistaking it as a pitty kiss, Day pulls away. After assuring him that it wasn’t a Pitty kiss, Mhork kisses him again.

Quick Take: I LOVE that Day’s forgive Pizza is Hawaiian. I absolutely despise August, but he did open the doors for Mhork and I love that he swoops in like a badass.
