Picking up right where episode 2 left off, the assailant on the motorbike is slinging acid toward Do-Hee. Luckily Gu-Won rushes to her side, protecting her from the deadly substance. Then, gripping her wrist, he’s able to access his powers and heal himself. Something Do-Hee finally sees with her own eyes. He tells her that he is, who humans would call, The Devil.
Now that she knows who he is and what he needs from her to survive, she decides that the best course of action is for him to become her bodyguard. It’s something he refuses, until the next morning when he realizes that, without his powers, he is unable to make deals with humans, which really does lead to spontaneous combustion!
So, he takes Do-Hee up on her offer, and together they go and wait for someone desperate enough to make a deal.

The deal is made by a mother desperate for her daughter (who is dying of cancer) to live. She says she would endure a lot worse things than hell if it meant her daughter could live a healthy and happy life. With the deal made, he’s safe. However, Do-Hee is mortified by what’s happened.
On their way back to her apartment, Do-Hee tries to call Madame Ju, but she doesn’t answer. To be safe, she has Gu-Won take her to the Almighty’s mansion, where they discover her dead in her garden. Do-Hee begs Gu-Won to help her, but the one thing he can’t do is bring back the dead.
It was a very emotional episode. Madame Ju is a complex character, who we haven’t really gotten to explore yet. She could even be tied her into the death of Do-Hee’s parents… which only adds to the intrigue.
More MY DEMON soon so…
