I love K-Dramas. Especially those in the fantasy genre. They’re so incredibly rich, with story, with music… they’re immersive and very addictive. I mean, let’s be real, a plethora of eye-candy doesn’t hurt either.

Case in point: Kang Song

After Saving Do-Hee, Gu-Won realizes that his tattoo, the source of his demonic powers has been transferred to the lowly human – and he’ll only have access to those powers if he’s touching her wrist. What’s more, his butler, Bok-Gyu (Jung-Do Heo) discovers that if he, as the devil, does not continuously make deals he will spontaneously combust. Do-Hee’s attacker, Gwang-Chol Gi (Seol-Jin Kim) has also gotten away, and it’s clear he is going to try again.

The more Do-Hee and Gu-Won interact with one another, the more it becomes clear that there is something more bubbling just beneath the surface. The two are clearly catching feelings, even if they won’t admit it to one another, or even themselves.

After receiving a cryptic phone call from Mr. Cha (Seok-Tae Joo), the head of Mirae Group’s financial team, earlier in the day, Do-Hee learns that he has been found dead, hanging in a public restroom. What she doesn’t know is that he was killed by the same man who tried to murder her! Standing in the middle of street Do-Hee stares dumbfounded at the television projecting the news. A man on a motorcycle speeds past her, sloshing acid.

This series is equal parts comedy and drama, with just enough murder mystery thrown in that it keeps the intrigue high. Airing two episodes per week, there is still plenty of story to tell before the series finale in January.

More MY DEMON soon so…
