What I have come to love about SixTONES is that they are a group that dances to their own beat. They don’t follow trends, they set them. In their newest music video “ANTHEM” –lead track to their upcoming fourth album THE VIBES–the formidable JPOP idol group calls to fans to “Put their hands up!” and have fun.

Set in the fictional “University of SixTONES” the music video is filled with easter eggs that show a group growing up and ready to take on the challenges of the adult world.

The versatility of their vocals is incredible, also, side note: Can we all take a second to stan Jesse’s awesome goatee and his super cute (and totally grunge) unicorn cardigan?

As a song, “ANTHEM” lives up to its name. While it’s got that typical fun and flare of a SixTONES song, there’s also something empowering about it. It feels like a natural progression from the incredible artistry behind their third album「声」and how it was their response to finally being free from the confines of the global pandemic. THE VIBES feels like a graduation of sorts; the group is growing up and the future is a road filled with possibilities.

Dropping on 10 January, THE VIBES will come in three separate formats, featuring additional bonus tracks and behind-the-scenes video extras, and can be ordered wherever Japanese CDs are sold, including CDJAPAN.

More SixTONES soon so…

Stay Tuned!
