There is something different about this new BL drama from MBS and TVK in Japan. On one hand, it’s innocent and sweet, but on the other, it is very VERY naughty! 

Takuya Nishimura of Lil Kansai stars as an angel who finds himself earthbound with the most pathetic human, Koki Tomoda (Uesugi Shuhei). No hobbies, no friends, no job, and no lover, he’s just about the most useless person on the planet. 

The two meet one night when Tomoda, after fighting with a random thug, is stabbed and dying. Though he believes his life is over, he wakes up fully recovered. When he returns home he discovers the angel waiting in his apartment with no memory about how he came to earth and no ability to fly back to heaven. His wings, molting, are almost as useless as the mortal the poor angel stuck with.

Based on the manga of the same name, the series is like a BL version of Ah! My Goddess. One of the first lines you hear the Angel say is “Eww, a pubic hair!” and in episode 3 he talks about how often the mortal, despite sleeping six inches from an angel, is constantly pleasuring himself. 

“Since I’ve never done anything overseas I guess I’ll start at the beginning! My name is Takuya Nishimura and I am a member of the Kansai Junior group Lil Kansai. I play the role of the Angel,” Takuya Nishimura said about the series. “I read the original story as soon as I heard that I had been cast, and it was rather different from the story I had imagined! Even still, I thought it was a very warm, sensitive and wonderful human story about two people battling their own demons of loneliness and anguish but who find heavenly peace in each other. I hope I can express in detail how their humanity and relationship changes little by little from their meeting to their parting, and I hope I can grow as an actor from this too. Now available on Rakuten Viki, the series can be streamed in North/South America, Europe, Oceania, Israel, India, Thailand, and the Philippines. It’s sweet, fun, and just the right amount of naughty. I am excited to see where it goes.
