There’s a secret to the spirit of sound. While a good song has the power to lift your spirits and brighten even the darkest of days, a great song not only embraces the dopamine rush but also weaves itself into the very fabric of your soul. When a listener can connect with a song that’s not presented in a language they entirely understand, it’s magic. However, it’s a power that very few artists know how to wield. 

NANON is one of those artists. Born in Thailand, he is the son of actor Kunakorn Kirdpan, he’s spent his entire 22 years of life in the spotlight. After signing with GMMTV (one of the largest entertainment conglomerates in Thailand), he’s starred in a plethora of films, dramas, and web series including international hits The Gifted and Bad Buddy Series. He’s also appeared on almost every single soundtrack released in conjunction with those series/films and in December 2022, he won the Best Theme Song Award for ‘Just Friend?’ from the Bad Buddy Series OST) at the 27th Asian TV Awards.

In 2023 he signed with RISER MUSIC, a subsidiary of GMMTV, and released his first single “สิ่งมหัศจรรย์ที่ไม่มีรูปแบบ(Unidentified Wonder)” an energetic pop song that also served as the theme to the supernatural series U.M.G (Unidentified Mysterious Girlfriend) which NANON also starred in. Presented in a one-shot/student film style, the music video played off of imitations of some of the world’s most successful films.

The second single “Knock Knock” featuring Jorin from the girl group 4EVE is an enjoyable song about the joys of a schoolboy crush.

His third single “ความพยายามอยู่ที่ไหน (PLEASE TRY AGAIN)” a tender song about the loss of love, the music video starred one of NANON’s Bad Buddy Series co-stars Mark Pakin. 

Earlier this week NANON, along with his label, began teasing the release of his first full-length album, The Secrets of the Universe. Thirteen tracks, including not only his first three singles from RISER but also new versions of some of his previous releases through GMM Music.

The Secrets of the Universe

As a whole, the album is fresh and fun, especially if you’re a fan of NANON or T-POP in general. Visually, NANON was clearly inspired by The Little Prince, which, as a fan of the 1943 novella by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, for me is fabulous. It’s one of my favorite stories.

Released 15 November on all streaming formats, it’s also been teased that the album will soon also have a physical release.
