There was a moment in the past when Tian and Phua crossed paths at Torfun’s grave. Tian went to thank you for a second chance while Phua to say goodbye to his friend. They missed one another by seconds.

At the school, Tian is preparing to tell everyone the truth. Longtae offers him support, but they both realize that Phua is missing. What they don’t know is that he is ransacking Tian’s apartment and finds Torfun’s journal. As Tian starts to tell the villagers the truth about who he is and what happened to Torfun, Phua appears. The chief interrupts his speech, telling Tian’s secret just before he can do so.
Tian, continues, telling the villagers that their beloved Torfun has passed away. Tian then tells the villagers that he is responsible for her death. As Tian leaves the village, disgraced, even Phua turns away from him.

The next day, Tian returns to the school to find it vacant. No one wants to see or speak to him. Not even the Rangers, who have come to love him so much. But just when he is preparing to leave Meejoo rushes to him. Even though her mother did not want her to come to school, she snuck out of her house because she missed him. Despite everything, she loves having him as her teacher.

The villagers have made a shrine to Torfun. Each one of them came to pay their respects. They all turn away from Tian when he tries to do the same. When Tian approaches Phua, he tells him that there is no reason for him to stay in the village any longer. It’s time for him to leave. Everyone is disappointed and he doesn’t want to see him ever again.

Instead of arguing with him, Tian thanks him for allowing him to stay. Grabbing his things, Tian reaches for the journal. Phua instructs him to leave it. The only thing he wants him to have of Torfun is the heart he took from her. He, like Tian himself, blames him for her death.

Alone in his hut, Tian reflects on one of the last happy conversations he had with Phua. When the chief told him that he wanted him to stay with him at his place, rather than staying at the teacher’s hut. After giving him a laundry list of why it would be better for the two of them to stay together, he finally confesses that he wants to come home to Tian.

Calling Phua, Nam lectures him about what he’s done to Tian. He told The chief about what happened so that he could ask Tian about what happened, not expose him in front of the village like a heartless murderer. Instead of hearing his friend out, Phua hangs up on him. As he looks back over the papers sent to him Nam realizes there’s more to the story.

Phua and the Rangers are too late. Sakda’s men are gone.

At the falls, Longtae confesses to Tian about how much Torfun meant to him. Not only was she the one who convinced him to go to college, but she also helped convince his father to allow him to go. Then he asked the all-important question. He wanted to know the truth – what exactly happened to Torfun the day she died.

After sending the rangers off, Nam finally confronts Tian. He knows Tian didn’t kill Torfun. Though it’s true, it was his car, Tian wasn’t driving. He was already in the hospital when she was hit by the car. It was a friend of his who was driving the car. Armed with new information Phua goes to apologize, but he’s too late. Tian is gone.

Longtae doesn’t blame Tian. Sitting alone, Tian sees the men who were at the village ranting about ghosts sneaking off into the jungle. Knowing they’re up to no good, he follows them. He discovers they work for Mr. Skada. Longtae follows him. When they’re discovered, Tian sacrifices himself so that Longtae can get away.

Phua shows up just in time to save Tian but is shot in the process.

Quick Take: This is my least favorite episode of the series. Phua was incredibly cruel, especially considering what we learn in episode 09. But I get why, it creates tension. Still. I wanted to slap his smug (but incredibly beautiful – and totally chiseled) face. He’s incredibly and unnecessarily cruel.
