Before Twilight, the first thing one would think of when they heard the word “vampire” was dark sort of sexy. These creatures of the night didn’t sparkle in the sun. They haunted our sweatiest dreams, awakening passions and desires we never knew existed.
In the 2022 Korean film / short drama series Kissable Lips (깨물고 싶은) vampire Jun Ho (Ji Woong Kim) is nearly the true death because, while vampires can drink human blood, they cannot kill them. Now, the only way to save himself is to drink a pure-blood human who has fallen in love with him. The act will, in turn, turn him human.
One such human is Min Hyun (Seo Bin Yoon), who has a very protective older brother (Seung Bin Yang) who knows exactly what Jun is. But Min isn’t afraid and as the two grow closer, Jun’s feelings for Min, start to outweigh his desire to survive.

In the end, Jun chooses suicide over draining Min of his blood. It’s a tear-jerking act of pure love and reinforces his true feelings.
Honestly, it’s not the most amazing vampire film I’ve ever seen, but it’s far from the worst. It’s cute, and I enjoyed it – even if it did make me cry a lot more than I expected it to.
The film was supposed to get a sequel series, however, with the actors involved in other projects, it doesn’t look very likely.
