One of my favorite parts about this series is the Original Sound Track. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the right sound can make a break a scene or series. This was especially true with this Korean vampire drama – starting with the series theme.

Han Seung Yun – “I Revive”

Starting with a gothic piano, the song quickly takes on a haunting rock ‘n’ roll sound, driven by by Yun’s incredibly sexy voice.

Byeol Eun – “Heart Race”

There’s something almost country-like to this sweet and gentle romantic ballad.

JEON SI HA – “I’m Always By Your Side”

Still romantic, there’s something incredibly emotional about this song. Ha’s voice is beguiling, and perfect for this type of track.

Chan – “Walking Again”

When it comes to male vocalist, I tend to favor the more pop / rock type of vocals. But there’s something hauntingly sweet about Chan’s voice on this track. It’s one of my favorites.

Park Kang Hyun – “Vampire”

The swagger of Hyun’s voice drizzles with sex appeal. This song slaps so hard. It’s so much fun.

Grizzly – “That Night”

Another soft ballad. Again, not my typical go-to for male vocalist, but there’s something about the way Grizzly hits the high notes that pulls me in.

STANDING EGG – “I Know It’s You”

Out of all the songs, this was the one that felt most like a “soundtrack” song – mainly because of the moment you first hear it. It’s tired forever to one of my most favorite moments in the series. It’s a beautiful song.

Available digitally through iTunes and Spotify, Heartbeat is one of those soundtracks that I rushed out to get. My one sadness is that this OST (like The Heavenly Idol) is not available on CD. Luckily, I do have a friend in Korea who was able to help me legally obtain this OST in its uncompressed glory.

10/10.
