When I think about Naniwa Danshi I think of colorful imagery and dancing. Lots of dancing. The colorful looks and star sprinkle sound is what makes them my comfort group. Anytime I need a “pick me up” I turn them on and within seconds, I feel like my Rainbow Brite self. 

But, in their newest single “I Wish” the group hangs up the colorful costumes and dancing shoes for street clothes, and a simpler more subdued look into who they are as individuals, not idols. Enchanting and goofy, I love seeing this side to these seven young heartthrobs. 

The single serves as the theme song to group member Shunsuke Michieda’s newest drama My Second Aoharu (English: My Second Youth)  which premiered 17 October on TBS.

“I Wish” will be available in physical CD format on 15 November 2023. It . Available wherever Japanese CDs are sold, including CDJAPAN. The single will include additional songs and video content.
