Rose, Dong Seop, and Sang Hae rush to Woo Hyeol’s side, freeing him and the prisoners from Man Hwi’s basement dungeon. This includes In Hae’s father Dong Il (Seo Hyun Chul). While Man Hwi can injure Woo Hyena, he doesn’t want to waste his energy on the four vampires, so he flees.

While Woo Hyeol brings Dong inside to see his daughter, Dong Seop and Sang Hae fill Rose in on what’s going on. Mr. Ko shows up to confirm their story. He also reveals that he will be respecting their master’s wishes. He will not interfere.

Do Shik drives to the house abandoned house to find it empty. He receives a call from Man Hwi telling him what’s happened. He makes sure that the vampire knows he will not get paid until the rest of what he wants. Man Hwi promises to deliver Woo Hyeol. He wants him out of his life, for good.

Man Hwi despises the “good” vampires

Inside the mansion, In Hae is furious. She never asked Woo Hyeol to find her father and she doesn’t have anything to say to him. As far as she’s concerned he abandoned her. The next day, however, when she hears him reveal to Woo Hyeol about what happened, she breaks down. Even still, she doesn’t know what to do or how to act around him.

So her father takes it upon himself. Reaching out, he apologizes for everything. He didn’t abandon them. He loved them. He wanted to return, he just couldn’t. After an emotional (and tear-filled) embrace, the two start to rebuild what had been destroyed at the hands of Man Hwi.

Not only does Hae Won want to claim the mansion for herself, but she also wants to push for a redevelopment plan. One that could very well destroy the historic home. When Do Shik finds out she has decided to withdraw her investment he decides to meet with her. He tries to get her to reconsider, but she has no interest. As far as she’s concerned everything being done is “by the books” and unless he wants her to start reconsidering her other investments, it would be best not to question her.

After reconciling with her father, In Hae finds Woo Hyeol in the garden. Hugging him from behind, She thanks him. For everything. Then she wishes him a “Happy Blood Day! Because it’s the day he’ll drink her blood filled with love and finally become human. Woo Hyeol however, tells her that he wants to wait. He wants to be able to protect her for a little bit longer – in a way, he knows he wouldn’t be able to do as a human. As father and daughter have dinner, Dong realizes In Hae has feelings for the vampire.

Sitting in the dark, Do Shik and Man Hwi discuss his plan to capture Woo Hyeol. The two come to an agreement. Man Hwi will tell the human how to obtain the blood of a half-vampire, only if Do Shik tells him why he needs it.

The next day In Hae receives a letter from the court. One Woo Hyeol is able to rip away and read. In Hae tells him the truth about what Hae Won is trying to do and that she may have to relinquish the mansion to her.

Reaching out to Hae Won, she agrees to meet with Woo Hyeol. He begs her to give up on the mansion, but she doesn’t want to. She wants it and she wants him. She believes that the only way for the two of them to get their happy ending is if In Hae is out of the picture – for good.

In Hae finding her own strength

Taking a call from Do Shik, In Hae meets him at a local cafe. He tells her he decided to pay back the money to Haw Won himself. Though he doesn’t feel comfortable about her living with a vampire, he doesn’t want her to be homeless either. The act infuriates Hae Won and she storms into his office demanding an explanation. Now, not only is In Hae in her crosshairs, but he is too and should brace himself for what’s coming.

Sang Hae questions Dong about the missing gold. He had no idea that there was any gold. Back at square one, Dang Hae has no idea what happened to their gold.

Returning home, In Hae sees Woo Hyeol collapse. As he rests in his lair. In Hae starts to put the pieces together. She decides that once he wakes up, she will give him her blood.

While Ki Sook and Gwang Ok discuss what they will do with the money they’re given for the redevelopment plan, Hae Won walks into the butcher shop and offers to buy the neighborhood. At the same Secretary Koo gives Do Shook a silver blended knife with a handle carved from Hawthorne wood. Like the arrow that struck him in the past, the knife, if wielded properly, will be able to kill him.

Waking up the next morning, Woo Hyeol leaves the mansion. Frustrated, Sang Hae reveals the truth. He’s gone to die because the only way he can live is for her to die. Knowing the truth, In Hae races to find him.

Quick Take: Hae Won is a psychopath. I am still unsure about Do Shik. Something just doesn’t feel right about him being the villain. Something feels off.
