When we last saw vampire Seon Woo Hyeol, he’d been woken up a day early from his 100-year nap to turn him human by a downtrodden nurse named Joo In Hae, who’d just lost her home after being swindled by her landlord. Luckily she inherited a mansion from her father after he was declared legally dead after missing for the last five years. A mansion Woo-hyeol once called home and where his coffin was resting peacefully in the basement.

The act of In Hae opening his coffin before the 100 years up meant that while Woo Hyeol is still not human, he’s not a vampire either. He’s something of a hybrid. Stuck in the middle unsure where he belongs. One thing In Hae is sure of though is that he doesn’t belong in HER home – even though Woo Hyeol claims to be the mansion’s rightful owner.
Angry at her for running his plans, Woo Hyeol leans in to bite her, but he gets the shock of his afterlife, she In Hae bites him first. Pushing him away from her, he stumbles back, hitting his head against the coffin’s platform. While she initially runs away, she stops and ends up calling the paramedics. He’s later declared dead at the hospital. But, that only lasts for a few moments.
Wanting to celebrate their employer/friend on becoming human, Woo Hyeol’s vampire buddies Park Dong Seop and Lee Sang Hae plan a surprise party. But he’s gone and they have no idea where.
After paying his hospital bill, she gets into a taxi, abandoning Woo Hyeol at the hospital. After 100 years of progress, the city isn’t a place he recognizes anymore. Mistaking a simple black cat for Mr. Ko, the fledging vampire is finally helped by two elderly women who use their smartphones to point him in the right direction.

He arrives home with just enough time to change before In Hae returns, furious he’s still in her life and even more so at the fact that he is STILL trying to make her believe he’s a vampire. Finally, exasperated, she tells him to prove it. But he can’t. He’s been too long without blood and his nap has made his powers dormant. But, his confusion gives In Hae just enough time to kick him out of the house and lock the doors.
Starving, scared, and super-frustrated, Woo Hyeol once again returns to the street. Stumbling upon a mother black cat he’s happy to learn it is the real Mr. Ko, who gives him a vile of blood, and tells him that if this girl was able to open his coffin, there may be more to her than meets the eye. He must stay by her side and protect her at all costs.
The pair bump into one another again, while In Hae is at a supermarket, to buy instant noodles, which she shares with him. But, they have a strange effect, and basically get him drunk, which again, gives her time to make her escape.
While she’s walking, she finds her landlord. She chases him. But her pursuit proves dangerous when he attacks her. Luckily for her, Woo Hyeol has taken the blood, and his powers have started to return. He rushes to her side just in the nick of time.
Quick Take: The myth is building slowly. It’s interesting.
Will In Hae finally believe Woo Hyeol now that she’s seen him in action? What will happen to the shady landlord? How does Taec Yeon manage to look so quaff and so bad ass all at the same time?
