When Seok was walking Ha Yeon back to his apartment after spending a full day and night with him, he didn’t want to let his lover go. However, he was forced to when Jin and Hyeok bump into them on their way back to the apartment as well. With his typical smart-aleck tone, Seok asks if they two are a couple. Confused, for a moment, Jin invites Seok up to the apartment for a drink, which he graciously accepts.

Once in their apartment, Jin corners her brother and asks if he’s doing the writing. He doesn’t want to answer her, but she keeps pressing him. She tells him not to let their father find out, that this is one thing, she cannot protect him from. At the same time, Hyeok is giving Seok the third degree. While he and Leon are not dating, they are like family and if he’s just acting on a whim, it’s best if he leaves him now. He’s got too bright of a future. Seok assures him that Heon is the only person he wants to protect – and his feelings for him are true.

While the statement impresses both Heon and his sister, the two don’t let up. It’s clear neither one of them likes each other very much and they try to assert their dominance by drinking themselves into oblivion. Jin and Ha Yeon are more than a little confused/embarrassed- mainly from the fact that the two of them got blackout drunk off four cans of beer.

Too drunk to drive home, Ha Yeon allows Seok to stay in his room. The next morning he learns that not only did Hyeok stay the night as well, but he’s also a popular baseball player (whom he’s heard of) who has spent time in America on a US Major League. As they eat breakfast Seok and Ha Yeon talk and continue to get to know one another.

At the publishing house, a meeting with Jin reveals that, despite his initial hardline refusal to change the ending, Seok has done just that. He wants the lovers to have a happy ending. Then he looks at Ha Yeon and smiles, which, in turn, makes Ha Yeon smile, and causes Jin to do the same. As they walk home after, Ha Yeon asks Seok to keep their relationship a secret from the company, and his sister. He asks that includes Hyeok, of whom he reveals he is slightly jealous, because he knows he knows sides of him Seok doesn’t yet.

At dinner, Seok asks him a series of questions, about his likes, his dislikes. He wants to get to know him better. When they start talking about his book, and why HaYeon likes it so much, Seok lets it slip that “It’s about you,” meaning their past life. He quickly recovers, but Ha Yeon teases him about using it as a pickup line. Then he convinces him to come to the artist for a surprise party to celebrate the completion of his novel.

As the party continues, Sin Bi and Seok watch Ha Yeon interact with their coworkers. He reveals that he is head over heels for him, and not just because he’s the reincarnation of his first love. It’s because he’s him. He’s not as refined as she was, he’s goofier, which he likes. He’s full-heartedly fallen in love.

The next day, Ha Yeon lifts a photo that’s fallen on a shelf. It’s the image of Seok and Jeong Ha Yeon from their past life in the 1940s. As he takes in the photo, the memories of the past start zapping back into his mind. Frightened and afraid, he rushes from the apartment. Seok finds him as he’s being consoled by Hyeok.

It’s a very good episode, that tacks a lot in its short 25 minutes. I love how much Seok has changed over the course of the last few episodes. Even the way he looks at Ha Yeon has gone from one of confusion to complete and utter devotion.

What will happen now? Will Seok finally get his happy ever after with his beloved? Find out in Episode 6 – The finale!
