OK GMMTV. I see you.
Trying to be sexy, messy, and dangerous.
This series has been a wonderful surprise, mainly because of the studio producing it. I am so accustomed GMMTV doing cute and cuddly romances – which they do do incredibly well. They’re a good fit to quench my (lack of) romance.
However, I do have some concerns.
Right now, there is not a lot of girth to the story. Everyone in the series is all about sex. Wild, raw, and sweaty sex. Also, everyone is kind of terrible.
Let’s start with Toxic Couple #1.
Though they are “Boyfriends” – and I use that term incredibly loosely. Mew is playing the sweet and innocent virgin, who can drive, but is not everything he is pretending to be. Top (and his name fits) is, let’s just popular. With everyone – and I do mean EVERYONE – Including Boston, which brings me to Toxic Couple #2.
Boston will sleep with anyone that moves, and has. Nick, who seems like the sweet and innocent type, clearly has demons he needs to deal with – including his unhealthy obsession with Boston – may lead to the formers demise (which would be an interesting plot twist).
Now for couple 3, who, while they they NEED to figure things out, are not toxic. Just… awkward.
Ray is the typical trust fund baby, struggling with his vices, which now include Sand, who’s just struggling. Period. They are currently, my favorite couple as they have more depth to story, beyond just being naked.
In short ONLY FRIENDS is a series about hot guys getting naked and having sex. Lots of sex. with everyone. I am not complaining, and I really hope that the lack of condoms lead to some interesting plot points.
