The right music can make or break a scene and as a singer-songwriter, I pay very close attention to the OST (original soundtrack / songs) and BGM (Background Music / Score) in the series I’m watching. In some cases, like 2gether and Cutie Pie, the music is what drew me to the series in the first place. When it comes to Until We Meet Again, the music is, in a single word: Sublime.

The OST

Boy Sompob is a one of the most prolific singer-songwriters in Thai BL. His songs have been used in series like Dear Doctor, I’m Coming For Soul, La Pluie, and of course Until We Meet Again. “Luckiest Boy” is one of those songs that when I hear it, I get emotional. Especially the full cast version.

Though Boy’s version is also just plan amazing.

While this entirety of OST is truly something very special some of the stand out tracks include songs that were sang by the actors themselves.

อยากบอกเธอ (I Want To Tell You) was a song by Samantha Melanie Coats, who plays Manaow in the series. Korn played a cassette of the song while he and In cuddled.

เราจะกลับมาพบกันใหม่เสมอ (A Lasting Promise) is a song featuring series stars OhmFluke, and while there isn’t a music video, I did find them performing the song at one of the fan events to promote the series.

Honestly, the entire thing is worth the listen, and it’s available on iTunes and Spotify, with a special edition that includes Kai and Earth singing “Luckiest Boy” available on Amazon Music.

The Score

The BGM of this series really added depth to the emotion of the scenes. While a lot of the music seems to be very generic and used throughout a lot of the series produced by Studio Wabi Sabi, there were two pieces that stand out. Anyone who’s a fan of Until We Meet Again will instantly recognize these songs and how much they added to the scenes they were placed in.

“A Peaceful Sadness” by Obi Vladicic

and “Coming Home” by Jeremy Wiebe

I guess the reason why I wanted to write this piece, in addition to the episode reviews and final thoughts is because, the music is an important piece to the picture. It adds a whole new layer and it’s one of the reasons that make this series so unbelievably perfect.

More BL Series / Music reviews soon so…
