Well, we’ve come to the end of the journey.
SYNOPSIS
The episode (which is the longest in the series) opens with In and Korn’s funeral. Their fathers, clearly grief-stricken (In’s more than Korn’s) tie a red thread around each of their wrists, bringing their souls, ensuring that they will find one another again in the next life. Alin, as a child, doesn’t understand what’s happening, all she knows is that she misses her uncle and she wants him to come back soon.
Alone after the funeral, Krit finds the candy In had given to Korn. Remembering the last moments he had with his brother, he breaks down into tears. For both him and Kard, Korn was their favorite person. While Krit eventually forgave his father, Kard never did. He died hating his father.
Present-day Pharm is having a full-on mental break down. In has completely taken over and he wants to make Korn, though Dean feel what he felt when Korn killed himself. Dean begs In not to take Pharm from him. Just as things start to get better Krit arrives with Sin and his father. In recognizes Pharm’s grandfather as the cause of their sorrows and he snaps again. Pharm’s mother and brother also arrive.
Krit takes the lead and apologizes. For everyone. He tells them what happened after In and Korn passed and how their fathers worked to gather to keep the condo so that it could belong to them when they returned. Nothing will take back what’s happened, but at least, they’ll be able to move forward, together. He promises that no one is going to separate the two of them. Then Korn, through Dean takes over to apologize to In, through Pharm for how he hurt him. The past and the present embrace.
Before he dies, Pharm’s grandfather asks Dean to take care of Pharm for him. Dean promises. But Pharm, after a nightmare of Dean cutting their own red thread tells him they need space to make sure that their destiny is truly theirs and not just In and Korn’s. Dean is heartbroken but promises to give Pharm his space. Pharm uses the time to reconnect with Team and Manaow.
But, even though they spent some time apart, Dean and Pharm never broke up. Then, after a dream where In and Korn thank him for what he and Dean did for them. They finally find their own peace and move on.
Dean has had the same dream. He and Pharm rush to one another.
With the past finally behind them, Dean and Pharm are finally able to make their own plans, which involved Dean changing his last name to Chatpokin. In doing so, he receives the family ring that belonged to Intouch. He uses it as Pharm’s engagement ring. The two promise to build a future for one another. Together.
THOUGHTS
As one of my most favorite series ever, it’s one I will return to many times more. As dark and emotional as It can be, the underling thee is that True Love does conquer all. Even Death.
A spin off series centered on Win and Team called Between Us did air in 2022.
