I love this episode for many reasons, most of which revolve around just how much Dean’s parents love him.
SYNOPSIS
In the past, eight-year-old Alin tells In that he is her favorite person and that she wants to marry him when she goes up. He apologizes and tells her that he already has someone he loves, so he can’t marry her (meaning Korn). She innocently asks if he will marry that person, to which In replies he wishes that he could. Alin casts a magic spell (by saying Abracadabra) to make everything all better.

After fainting, Pharm wakes up on Dean’s sofa. Confused, he’s not sure what has happened, then he sees Alin again. He’s overcome with emotion and reaches out, embracing her. Though she is surprised, she returns the gesture and casts a magic spell (by saying Abracadabra) to make everything all better. She also reveals that Dean told her that they were a couple.

Upstairs Pharm is overcome with emotions. Joy, at seeing Alin again, Longing because he’s missed her so much, sadness because she doesn’t know that he’s In, it’s the first signs of the coming storm and Dean does his best to comfort Pharm. After a bath, the two fall asleep in one another’s arms.

In the past, In and Korn are in bed after celebrating their first anniversary. It’s a bittersweet moment dreamed by Dean. Pharm on the other hand dreams of In’s father (Dean’s great-grandfather) struggling to rip In and Korn apart. Even after he’s able to wake Pharm, it takes him a moment to realize where he is and who he is – again, a building storm.

The next day, over breakfast, Dean and Pharm share their relationship with Dean’s Father (Songsit Rungnopakunsi, Kob) whose only response is that “I didn’t know Dean could be gentle.” Though he approves of the relationship, he knows it might not be the easiest road for the two.

In the kitchen, Pharm makes a desert. Dean comes in and the two share a quick moment of relief. Dean then advises Pharm that over the weekend, he’s going to sleep over. He’s giving Pharm one week to prepare himself because they won’t be sleeping.
THOUGHTS
The first time I watched this episode I had so much anxiety. I was nervous about Dean’s father and the cracks in Pharm’s fragile mental state getting deeper, made m e very worried for what’s to come. Even though I’ve seen this series so many times I don’t even need subtitles anymore, it still makes me uneasy, mostly because I know what’s coming. Still I push forward. The only way to get to the light is to continue through the darkness.
