This is one of the turning point episodes. Developments and discoveries are made in an episode that is one of the most rollercoastery of emotional rollercoasters.

SYNOPSIS

Korn and In are snuggled up in one another’s arms, listening to music. It’s a sweet and simple moment, but Korn’s face is filled with worry. It’s like he knows the simplicity of this moment is not going to last, that it’s only going to get harder from here on out.

The calm before the storm

Pharm, dreaming of the memory, starts tossing and turning in Dean’s arms. Hugging him close, Dean soothes him. Waking up to a ringing phone the next morning, Pharm reaches over, answering before he realizes it’s Dean’s phone. Del shrieks in excitement at the fact that Dean has fallen asleep at Pharm’s house. Manaow has a similar reaction to Dean when he answers Pharm’s phone. Later over breakfast, Dean, starts to tell Pharm about Korn and In, but Pharm tells him that they should live in the present and not focus on the past. Overcome by Korn’s emotions, gets a little too rough with Pharm. While Pharm isn’t upset, he makes him promise to never do that again. Dean promises.

Pharm loves Dean, even when he’s a bad boy

While Pharm goes to study with Team and Manaow, Dean asks Del and Don to take him to meet his paternal grandmother (Tarika Thidathit, Koi). It is his first time meeting her.

When his siblings leave them to talk, Dean not only reveals that his lover is a man, but that he is the reincarnation of Korn and that his lover, is the reincarnated In. Antika is obviously shocked, but she’s also worried that history will repeat itself and she begs Dean to promise her that he will not hurt himself. Dean promises and tells her how sorry he is for causing In’s death. Antika is quick to point out how much Korn meant to In and vice versa. She never blamed Korn for what happened. It wasn’t his fault. He was a victim too. She then gives Dean a very special family heirloom.

Dean promising his grandmother that history will NOT repeat itself

The episodes ends with Team coming to Win’s room because he can’t fall asleep in his own. After a bit of teasing, the two cuddle up. Team falls asleep in Win’s arms, after asking him to take him to see the Christmas lights.

THOUGHTS

My least favorite moment in this entire series takes place in this episode and it’s where Dean got handsy with Pharm. Dean has never been anything but respectful and Korn (from what we’ve seen) was never overly aggressive with In. It’s a moment that comes out of nowhere and is never addressed again, in either lifetime. Perhaps there is more explanation in the novel/manga, but in the series, it just feels forced and out of place. I do love the interaction between Dean and Antika, and I always turn into a blubbering mess when I watch this scene. But this episode also has one of my favorite Manaow Lines.”You. Haven’t. Much. Time. If. YOU. Want. To. CRASH. That. Train.” Samantha’s delivery is gold. I also love the growing romance between Win and Team.

With each episode that passes, I dread what’s to com…
