2gether: The Series was one of the very first BL dramas I ever watched (I think it was number three after He’s Coming to Me and Fish Upon the Sky). Since then I’ve seen it several times (Originally on the official GMMTV YouTube page, then because I purchased the DVD boxset) however, now that it’s on Viki, I figured it was time for a re-watch.
Based on the novel, Because We … Belong Together by JittiRain, 2gether is one of those series that made BL explode with international audiences.

First-year law student Tine (Metawin Opas-iamkajorn, aka Win) is a handsome and (self-proclaimed) chic, who wants to win the attention of a beautiful girl. However, instead, he becomes the object of his classmate, Green’s (Korawit Boonsri, aka Gun) obsession. No matter what Tine does he can’t get Green to understand that he’s just not that into him.
Desperate to find a way to get Green to leave him alone, Tine resorts to the most desperate of measures: asking Sarawat (Vachirawit Chivaaree, aka Bright), the most popular guy on campus to be his fake boyfriend. Thus begins a hysterical game of cat and mouse that blossoms into very real feelings.
Episode 1.
Tine (Win Metawin) does start the series as an absolute self-entitled spoiled little brat! Now, to be fair, Green (Gun Korawit) was annoying as hell. But still, Tine went to extremes – hysterical extremes, but extremes nevertheless. I do like that Sarawat knows exactly what Tine is doing and goes out of his way to torment him. He gets so far under Tine’s skin that the “chic ladies’ man” starts to dream about him.

Knowing the series as well as I do, it’s nice that it still has some re-watchability. Is it the best series to come out of GMMTV? No. But it is fun and has some spectacular music. Also, anything created by JittiRain will always have a special place in my heart.

One of the things I’ve noticed when it comes to GMMTV, especially when it comes to 2gether is that the versions released for sale, though they are “uncut” are not complete. For instance. In the Youtube version, there is a voice-over from Tine that is removed where he speaks about how even in his current state he recognizes the song as “Together.”
The line is also missing from the Viki version. However, now that the series is available on the streaming site, it’s been geo-blocked on YouTube in the US, the same for My School President and F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers.
