Amazing.

Full stop. That’s my review. This series is right up there with The End of the World, With You, My Love Mix-Up, and Eternal Yesterday.

Yuki Sakurai (Exile) is Kazuma Takizawa, a new member of the HR team for a prominent company. Recently returning to Tokyo after living in America, Kazuma is surprised to find his high school best friend Ren Ishihara (Aloha Takamatsu) as one of the companies top designers. As the series continues you discover that Ren and Kazuma were more than just friends, they were each others first love.

But that was ten years ago. Now, they’re merely friends with benefits. Benefits that occur every single day, but still just friends with benefits. Clearly Takizawa wants more, but he tolerates Ishihara’s rules, because he wants to be close to him.

Written and directed by Yuho Ishibashi, the eight episode series airs on MBS, the network home of Eternal Yesterday, Jack o’ Frost, My Beautiful Man, Takra-kun & Amagi-Kun, and a plethora of other amazing dramas.

Tokyo in April is… airs new episodes on Thursday and can be streamed for international audiences on both gagaOOlala (Thursdays) and Viki (Fridays).

Stay Tuned.
