It’s hard to believe that it’s only been a year since I was introduced to the JPOP sensation Travis Japan. The group of seven has become a staple on my playlist and a group I’ve been lucky enough to interact with directly. The first international group to come out of Japan’s legendary Johnny & Associates, they’re some of the most dynamic and driven individuals I have ever met. After two successful singles, the group has released their first EP, and within the four songs, Travis Japan proves why they are a formidable group ready to take over our playlist – and our hearts.
Opening with the group’s most recent single, “Moving Pieces,” the sleek sensuality of this song highlights each individual’s voice while simultaneously proving what a well-oiled machine they are when they work in unison.
Slipping right into the summer sounds of “Charging!” This bright and colorful pop song was featured in Kagome’s health beverage “Let’s live vividly” TV commercial campaign, which also featured the guys.
“Still on a journey” strengthens the carefree summer sounds with a motivational love song about choosing to make every day a beautiful journey. This was the “Stand Out” song for me. It feels very autobiographical, and it’s just a lot of fun.
Closing with “Keep On Smiling,” the Commercial Theme of Rosette’s Face Wash Pasta “Smile, Always, Continue” campaign, the group adds a sprinkle of disco to the summer sound, which rounds out the project that can circle right back to “Moving Pieces” for constant repeat.
It’s a solid EP, and I’m glad we’re getting more content from these seven talented guys. You can bet I’ll keep following them, so…
Stay Tuned!
